Lucy started out working for McKinsey in London and discovered that she loved organising diaries rather than being the one with the diary that needed organising…
Once Lucy was married and had her daughter she and her husband found the daily stress of working in London and running to drop off or pick up their daughter from her carer. They decided to move out to the country and have a better work life balance – with Lucy being a Cornish girl at heart….
Lucy was introduced to VIPVA and found out about being a VA and has not looked back since.
Our Guest – Lucy Messaritis
Lucy Messaritis, founder of Nixon Executive Support, has been a successful (APVA accredited) VA for over 4.5 years. Her current portfolio of work includes diary management and general PA duties for the Editor of a current affairs publication and for two directors of an employment law specialist, plus personal PA support to a private entrepreneur and via association with fellow VA colleague, virtual EA
support to a founding Partner of a management consultancy firm.
Lucy is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Association of Professional Virtual Assistants, who’s mission is to raise the industry standard with its support of VAs and OBMs and educating them on the fundamental requirements to be properly set up in business, to ensure both they and their clients are protected.
Prior to becoming a VA, Lucy spent 7.5 years learning the art of complex diary management and general right-hand-womanship at McKinsey & Co London as EA to various senior Partners in the Healthcare, Pharmaceutical and Private Equity sectors. Teamwork, a keen eye for detail, the ability to put herself in her charges’ shoes and a good sense of humor were key to ensuring that Lucy’s support
for those under her care was always to the highest level.
Outside of making diaries look neat and getting people from A-B as gracefully as possible, which she genuinely gets a kick out of, Lucy loves baking cakes and trying overly complicated recipes, trying to burn off some of those calories with long walks in her local South Gloucestershire countryside with her husband and 10 year old daughter or pounding the lengths of her local pool (when it’s open!) and pretending she knows what she’s doing in the garden.
“Lucy makes it so much easier to cope with a busy and demanding meeting and travel schedule. She is creative in her approach to diary management – she is way beyond admin – a real partner in a busy life” – Annabel Kaye, Director, Irenicon Ltd
