Did you know there is a new version of Microsoft Teams?
Did you know that the New Teams is being rolled out in September 2023. I had an email about it from the Microsoft Message Centre – as I am the administrator of my tenant I get to hear about upcoming changes before they happen.
I have to admit thought that I have a support company who look after everything in the back end as some things need specialist knowledge to implement or change.
Here is an image of the email announcement.

Right now, you can try the New Teams by clicking on the toggle that you may see top left of your Teams Window.

Up to now I have been switching back and forth between the two versions as the New Teams was not quite there and did not yet have all the standard features.
With this announcement I tried it out again and it now has most things I expect to see. As they have announced that it will be available as part of the Microsoft 365 bundle as of September, I expect that ALL the features will be included by then.
What is the point of a New Teams?
Microsoft have been working to make Teams faster and more responsive. With more features and easier to find things.
I will be recording a new course for the New Teams later in August and you can get on the wait list for the new version by clicking the button below.
Get on the waitlist for my new Microsoft Teams CourseWhat are the differences?
First of all, you will notice that the look and feel is different – the purple has gone in favour of your Windows Theme. Never fear though, you can change the theme to one of several.

If you choose Classic then you get the purple back 😊. However you may prefer the Dark, Light, or High Contrast theme. You can test them out and see which you prefer.
I will blog more about the New Teams in my coming posts, I just wanted to give you a heads up!
