VAs – Do You Create Instagram Posts for Your Clients?

As a busy VA you find yourself tasked with many things by your clients and if you are one of the VAs who provide Social Media services and specifically Instagram Posts then what I am about to share with you will have you jumping up and down at your desk.

You may think that you need specialist software to create awesome Instagram posts, but you would be wrong! Yes, there are online packages out there like Canva or Adobe Spark or one of the many other online apps who have templates for all things Social Media. They are all great and do a good job however there are drawbacks.

  • You need to be online to use them
  • You will need to create an account
  • To get all of the features not just what is made freely available you may need to pay.

What If I told you that you have the software on your computer?

Yes, you do. It is called PowerPoint. It is part of your Office package whether a standalone package or an Office 365 subscription.

With PowerPoint you can:

  • Resize your slides for Instagram
  • Add background images
  • Add text
  • Use transparency
  • Add picture
  • Format text
  • The list goes on

No need to pay for yet another license. Not only that but if you are one of the unlucky people who have a poor broadband connection, you will love the fact that you can create all your social media posts offline and upload them at your leisure.

But slides? They are not Pictures, are they?

You are right. Slides are not pictures. But they can be exported as JPEG or PNG which ever you prefer and then uploaded to your social media accounts.

Import your content direct from Word to PowerPoint

Create your content for each post in Word, style it appropriately and then import into PowerPoint. Each heading becomes a new slide meaning that you can create 30 or 40 posts in seconds. When you have set up your PowerPoint template correctly with your branding or your client’s branding and colours, creating posts for Instagram will take just a short time. In fact, I can create 30 posts in 30 minutes or less!

It will come as no surprise to you that I have developed a course to show you exactly how to set up your PowerPoint Slides for Instagram, how to import your content from Word and how to tweak the formatting. It is called.

Instant Insta Posts – create awesome posts in 30 minutes or less just using PowerPoint

Included in the course

  • Resize your slides for Instagram
  • Change the background colour
  • Add pictures to the background to make them pop
  • Modify the Slide Master for your Instagram posts

I had no idea you could use powerpoint in this way! How cool is that?

Shelley you keep opening my eyes and mind to new ways of doing things, more simply. Now I just need to find the time to explore them all & work out what’s best for me 🙂

Hi Tracy-Jane, well the time invested will be well spent as it will save you time in the long run! Seriously though, PowerPoint can be used for so many things and once you know how to use it you begin to find other uses. I am in fact just writing a post about all the things you can do with PowerPoint! Look out for that in the coming weeks. Shelley
